Project Tempo presented a unique opportunity to lead the development of a £120K multi-layered website for a brand-new organisation with a bold mission: creating a more sustainable and productive society through faster, more effective solutions to global challenges. The platform needed to serve dual purposes—as the public face communicating brand purpose and credibility, and as a secure hub for research and insights.

As website lead, I wore two critical hats:

Brand Management: I translated Project Tempo’s brand strategy into a digital ecosystem, ensuring every element reinforced brand positioning while meeting complex technical requirements. Working with our 15-member team spanning digital, creative, data and insights, I maintained brand consistency across all touchpoints while adapting for different audience needs.

Creative Project Management: I orchestrated the entire creative process from concept to launch, managing three synchronised phases (landing page, main platform, research hub) aligned with our brand launch timeline. I established workflows, approval processes, and quality gates while navigating shifting stakeholder requirements and protecting creative integrity under tight deadlines.

The Challenge

One of the main challenges was managing extremely tight timeframes while maintaining high standards across every phase of development. The website had to launch in line with broader project milestones, which meant there was little room for delay. I had to carefully balance speed with quality — ensuring that core features were delivered on time without compromising user experience or technical integrity. This required close coordination across design, content, and development teams, with a strong focus on meeting dependencies and keeping momentum throughout.
Another ongoing challenge was navigating changing stakeholder needs. As the project evolved, priorities shifted — often with short notice. I stayed ahead of this by keeping lines of communication open, running regular check-ins, and adjusting the roadmap to reflect new inputs while still protecting critical timelines. By staying adaptable and maintaining a clear view of the project’s strategic goals, I was able to keep the team aligned and focused, even when requirements changed.
These challenges tested my ability to lead under pressure, make fast but thoughtful decisions, and keep a complex project moving forward without losing sight of the bigger picture.
